About

The macadamia plant (Macadamia integrifolia) belongs to the Proteaceae family, known for their richly flavoured edible seeds. The macadamia is a genus of four species of trees. Three species of the genus are important for their fruit, the macadamia nut. The plant is native to Australia and is grown commercially in a number of subtropical areas. Macadamia trees usually grow to a height of between 2-12 metres (or 7-40 feet). The macadamia trees have shiny leathery leaves and fragrant pink or white flowers.
